Please note that WinSCP is not provided or supported by CloudAfrica.  This tutorial should simply be used as a guideline to help you gain access to your bucket, should you wish to use WinSCP.

Known Bug:
When using
WinSCP as the selected Client software you cannot rename a folder. This issue does not occur when using other client software to access your folders and information inside your bucket.

When using the master key

  1. Open the software > click on New Site
  2. Configure the bookmark as follows:

    • File protocol: Amazon S3
    • Host name: s3.bigstorage.io
    • Port number: 443
    • Access key ID: The access key for the master key
    • Secret access key: The secret key for the master key
  3. Select 'Save'
  4. Add a site name - perhaps use the bucket name or something to easily identify the bucket and key associated to it later on.
  5. Click 'OK'.
  6. Select the site newly created and click on Login.

When using a key other than master

  1. Open the software
  2. Click on new site
  3. Configure the Bookmark as you would have done with the master key.
    • File protocol: Amazon S3
    • Host name: s3.bigstorage.io
    • Port number: 443
    • Access key ID: The access key for the full / read access key
    • Secret access key: The secret key for the full / read access key
  4. Click on 'Advanced'.
  5. Select 'Directories' under 'Environment' and configure this screen as follows:

  6. Under Remote directory: Add a '/' and then the full bucket name i.e /mybucket-name-123 > leave everything else as is, and click on OK > click on Login.
